Chandler, Arizona

Your headlights are not dirty.

They are sunburned.

They left the factory with one coat of UV protection.

Chandler sun ate it.

Sanding takes the yellow off.

Only a new coat keeps it off.

The damage

Chandler gets over 300 days of sun a year.

Your lens is polycarbonate with a thin factory coat sprayed over it. That coat is the only thing standing between the plastic and the sun. Here it does not last. Once it fails the plastic itself starts to oxidize, and that is the yellow you are looking at. It is not on the surface. It is the surface.

It looked like I was driving on fog lights.

This is the part people pay for.

Hold the panel. Let go and it clouds back over, which is the honest part.

How it works

Three steps. The third one is the business.

01 / Strip

We wet sand the dead layer off, working down through the grits until there is no haze left to sand.

02 / Polish

Machine polish until the lens is optically clear again, not just clearer than it was.

03 / Coat

A real ceramic UV coat goes on last, cures hard, and blocks the sun. This is the step a $40 job skips.

Questions

The ones people actually ask.

Will they just go yellow again?

Not for years, and that is the whole reason this business exists. A lens that gets sanded and left bare starts hazing again within weeks in this climate. The ceramic coat is what stops it. It is also the step that gets skipped when the price looks too good.

Why not just buy new headlights?

You can. A new pair of assemblies runs $600 to $1,000 before labor, and on most cars the bumper comes off to fit them. Restoration is $129 and takes an afternoon out of nobody's day.

Can I not just do it myself with a kit?

You can, and it will look great for a while. Kits sand and polish, and most of them seal with a wipe-on product that gives out in months here. Then you sand the same lens again. That is fine if you enjoy it. Most people call us the second time.

How long does it take?

About 90 minutes for a normal pair. Bad ones take longer and cost the same.

Do you come to me?

Yes. Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Mesa, and Ahwatukee. We work in your driveway or your office parking lot and we bring our own power and water.

What if it does not work on my lens?

Then you pay nothing. Damage on the inside of the lens and real cracks cannot be sanded out, and we can see that in the first minute. We tell you and we leave.

I had been putting this off for two years. It took him an hour and a half in my driveway and I honestly did not recognize my own car.
Marisol R., Chandler
Mine were so far gone it looked like I was running fog lights. First night after, I could actually see the end of my street.
Danny K., Gilbert
The last place I went did them for forty bucks and they were yellow again by August. These have been clear through a whole summer.
